TASK 3: DECONTAMINATE YOUR SKIN.
1. Decontaminate your skin using the M291 Skin Decontaminating Kit (SDK).
a. Put on your Field Protective Mask and hood without zipping the hood pulling the draw strings, or fastening the shoulder straps.
b. Seek overhead cover for protection against further contamination.
c. Remove one skin decontaminating packet from the carrying pouch.
d. Tear the packet open quickly at the notch.
e. Remove the applicator pad from the packet.
f. Discard the empty packet, observing litter discipline.
g. Open the applicator pad.
h. Thoroughly scrub exposed skin on the back of your hand, palm, and fingers until they are completely covered with black powder from the applicator pad.
i. Switch the applicator pad to the other hand, repeating the previous step on the other hand.
j. Decontaminate your face and the inside of your mask, covering all areas with black powder without breathing.
k. Remove the second packet from the carrying pouch.
I. Tear open the packet quickly at the notch.
m. Remove the applicator pad.
n. Discard the empty packet, observing litter discipline.
0. Open the applicator pad.
p. Scrub thoroughly the skin of your neck and ears without breaking the seal between your lace and the mask until they are completely covered with black powder.
q. Redo your hands until they are completely covered with black powder.
r. Discard the applicator pad, employing litter discipline.
5. Put on your protective gloves.
t. Fasten the hood.
u. Remove the powder with soap and water when operational conditions permit.
2. Completed performance measure 1 in sequence within 5 minutes.
