TASK 1: PREPARE M136 (AT4) FOR FIRING
TASK 2: PERFORM M136 (AT4) MISFIRE PROCEDURES
1. Prepared M136 (AT4) 84mm rocket for firing within 15 seconds or less.
a. Cradled the AT4 in left arm.
b. Removed the transport safety pin.
c. Unsnapped and unfolded the shoulder stop.
d. Placed launcher on the right shoulder.
e. Released the front an rear sights.
f. Placed cocking lever in the arm position.
g. Checked the backblast area.
h. Fully depressed and held down on the forward safety.
The backblast must be checked before the weapon is fired. These are the only two steps that must be performed in sequence.
2. Performed M136 (AT4) misfire procedures within 45 seconds or less.
a. Shouted MISFIRE.
b. Released the red safety catch.
c. Released the cocking lever.
d. Checked the backblast area and attempted to fire.
e. Repeated steps a through d when the launcher failed to fire.
f. Returned the red safety lever to the SAFE uncocked position.
g. Removed the launcher from the shoulder and pointed the muzzle at the target.
h. Replaced the transport safety pin.
i. Placed the launcher on the ground toward the target area.
